Seventh Biennial Conference of INSS on May 16-18, 2023

On May 16-18, 2023 the International Network for the Study of Spirituality (INSS – www.spiritualitystudiesnetwork.org) held its seventh biennial conference at South East Technological University (SETU), Waterford Campus, Cork Road. The title of the conference was: ‘Spirituality, Critical Reflection, and Professional Practice in an Uncertain World’. SpIRE, and SpirSoP, the spirituality studies research group of the School of Humanities at SETU, will collaborated with INSS in holding the conference.  Dr Derek O’Byrne, Vice-President for Academic Affairs at SETU,  welcomed delegates.

The conference was the first INSS conference to take place outside the UK and attracted 160 delegates from 25 countries and 5 continents. The lead organiser was Dr Michael O’Sullivan, Director of SpIRE and a member of the Executive Committee of INSS.

The conference fee for non-members of INSS (International Network for the Study of Spirituality) was £194 early bird and £213 standard. The equivalent membership rates were £162 and £178. The student rate was £114. The conference rate included meals and breaks on Tues-Thurs except for the conference dinner on Wed, May 17 which was optional. The fee for the dinner was £36. 

Special accommodation rates for a limited number were available at The Tower Hotel and Viking Hotel.
